The Bill & Cynthia Richey Scholarship Fund

The East Valley Pops Orchestra plays an annual concert at Kino Elementary in Mesa. It is at this event that we award the money we've raised to the various schools.

With the Bill & Cynthia Richey Scholarship fund, the East Valley Pops Orchestra wants to extend the same generosity and support of music to the community at large that the Richeys demonstrated for many years in the orchestra. Bill Richey played in the trumpet section for over 20 years and served as a board member. Cynthia Richey played in the percussion section for many years and served as librarian. The Richeys donated valuable equipment to the orchestra and displayed their generosity and commitment to the orchestra in many ways.

With this scholarship, we are supporting young instrumental musicians in our schools in future years. All money donated to this fund goes exclusively to this goal. Because the East Valley Pops Orchestra is a 501(c)(3) organization, all donations are tax-deductible and recognized by the IRS.
